The heritage listed schoolhouse (1866) and surrounding grounds provide the perfect setting to taste a large variety of Mortimers’ award winning wines. With over 150 years of history, it’s no wonder Mortimers Schoolhouse was named one of the 15 best Cellar Doors in NSW (Goodfood). Located just 5 minutes North of Orange, you will likely find Peter, Julie and Daniel Mortimer pouring their wines and sharing their history and passion for the industry.

Tastings are $15 and include a full flight of the Chestnut Garth Estate range

Perfect Pairings

When you visit Mortimers Wines Cellar Door, you can pair your wine tasting with one of three delicious “Perfect Pairings” from our tuckshop. These offerings can be ordered on arrival and do not need to be pre-purchased with your booking.

Marinated Olives
Greek and Italian olives marinated in garlic, chilli, oregano and parsley.

Signature Grazing Board
A selection of three cheeses, caramelised onion dip, fresh fruit, fig and olive artisan crackers, mixed nuts and crispbread.

Dessert Selection Platter
Artisan crackers, hazelnut spread, fresh seasonal fruit, maple-coated cashews and a mixed chocolate selection.

Each pairing has been thoughtfully selected to complement your wines and enhance your tasting experience with us.

What a great winery, Peter and Daniel and great people, they took the time to explain the differences about cooler climate wines, we sat on the veranda with a cheese board trying all the wines, I could not think of a better way to spend an hour or two on a Friday afternoon, we will be back for more wine soon,

The setting is stunning and very family-friendly, with a playground and plenty of equipment to keep the kids entertained while the adults relaxed nearby. The tasting consisted of a generous eight wines, all of which were lovely, and we shared a delicious cheese platter. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, and we ended up staying for hours. Peter and his son Dan were incredibly friendly, which made the experience even better. It’s not far out of town and the perfect spot for a relaxed afternoon. Highly recommend, especially for families looking for a winery that caters beautifully to both adults and children 🍷🌿
